Yoga therapy is a highly individualized approach to transformation of the mind, body and spirit. Yoga is an experiential practice, and working 1:1 allows you to have your own personal practice adapted to your specific needs and goals. Too often, yoga is recommended to people who have specific issues that cannot be truly addressed in a group setting. Working individually with a teacher helps to not only focus your yoga path, but it was how yoga was traditionally passed down from teacher to student.
I primarily teach in the Viniyoga tradition, a lineage passed down from Sri Krisnamacarya and Mr. TKV Desikachar. Viniyoga is rich with knowledge and tools on how to apply the teachings of yoga in a way that meets the person where they are.
INDIVIDUAL YOGA THERAPY SESSION
In the initial session, I will invite you to share more about your daily lifestyle, any current issues that are causing you difficulties, and any goals you have for yourself. In this first session, I will guide you through basic yoga asana movements and breathing, and design a personal home practice for you to start with.
In the follow up sessions, we will connect on how your personal practice is going, and make changes if necessary. As life changes and you evolve, your practice does too! Follow up sessions are also an opportunity to ask questions about your practice and to reflect on any insights that come up for you. We will also discuss Ayurvedic lifestyle habits if needed and based on your interest.
IMPORTANCE OF YOUR PERSONAL PRACTICE
The core of my work with my clients is highlighting the importance of their personal practice. I am here to guide you and support you, but your daily personal practice is where the consistent effort lies, and where so much magic can stem from.
If you are a new client and we haven’t connected already, please first book an initial call below so we can get to know each other and how I can best support you.
